21 Smoothies
21 Smoothies
| My Alkalinity Bliss looking a little more light green... and a tarte lipstick I got from the January Glossybox... Its a little scary too! Ha! |
| Blueberry Ginger: People MAKE THIS NOW! |
I have been a little bad on posting these and other
things but here is a little round up of two more.
I haven't done my smoothie today. I decided it should be
a dinner thin.
I'm just too tired! lol
So the alkalinity smoothie was actually pretty good.
Definitely for being a green (mine turned out baby green)
smoothie it is still very easy and tasty.
The real star of wonderful flavor was the blueberry ginger.
This wonderful lavender/purple smoothie was sooooo good guys.
The blueberry gives it the fruity and the ginger the freshness.
It's pure perfection!
Serves 1-2
½ pear
¼ avocado
1 packed cup spinach
¼ cup coconut water
1 cup almond milk
1 tsp chia seeds
1 scoop protein powder (hemp, pumpkin or pea works great!)

1 packed cup spinach
¼ cup coconut water
1 cup almond milk
1 tsp chia seeds

Monday Rant #2
Trying to be healthy is hard.
Mostly when your over saturated with information and conflicting ideas.
It can also be quite easy if you know where to look.
Let's face it, I survive off of leftovers mostly and I don't do any real cooking.
So,
I love the following bloggers for their easy
and yummy looking healthy food,
but also for their ability to get up and COOK.
I may stick to eating leftovers while I still don't have my own place,
but I know that once I'm out again I will
but I know that once I'm out again I will
just HAVE to make some of these girl's goodies.
Whomever stumbles upon this I guarantee their tummies
will be glad they did.

| A BEAUTIFUL MESS |
Okay so maybe these recipes aren't exactly on the uber healthy label,
but better than anything you can get sold-
but better than anything you can get sold-
YES, DEFINITELY.
Especially if you like sweet stuff like their Cinnamon Dolce or Lavender ice cream recipes.
Try their Lavender and Honey marshmallows or White Chocolate and Nutella truffles.

This girly, Sam, has many things going on her blog.
She keeps things interesting and I love all the helpful reviews she has for natural products.

She also does updates on good food her and her family have been eating.
You can check out her latest post on this here.

They all look delicious and are definitely good and healthy.
Can you believe she made these homemade tortillas below?

| NEVER THE SAME SPICE TWICE |
The wonderful Stephanie over at Never the Same Spice Twice always
has something good cooking.
With her What's Cooking weekly line ups of food and her spotlight
recipes you can never have an excuse to not be prepared for dinner.
The Asian Chicken Lettuce wraps recipe seen above look sooo tasty
it might just get me to do some real cooking.
| AB PETITE |
Yes, you read correctly.
Her recipes, like the Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins above, are not
only delicious and healthy but they are also no scientific experiment.

nutritional facts. Making her blog a must if you are trying to

I just had to use this photo of Nicole to show what
uber healthy food (with beer apparently?)
and great workouts can do.
Nicole mostly blogs about healthy food, fun workouts,
and pretty fashion.
She definitely inspires me to try to be in my best shape.
And having an athletic tendency
(though I may not be considered athletic)
I really enjoy her varied workouts.
I love her smoothies, partly because they are so easy.
What's easier than a smoothie?
Go check her out too, here.
Hope you enjoy the food!

Monday Rant#1
Can I talk about fat?
I feel like it's one of those things.
Elephant in the room.
Underrated item.
Over sensitive subject.
When you are neither on the skinny team
nor on the other end you end up wondering what
![]() |
| via |
means to most people now.
I've had plenty of conversations with my best friend
and arguments with my guy
that ended up like the following:
And me confused whether or not my extra pounds make me fat.
(I mean Mr. BMI likes to say so.)
And because if I were seven inches taller
with the same proportion and size
I would still not be modeling.
Not because of my face (which alone is a career ruin)
but because models are either really thin to be "straight" size
or about size 10& up to be plus size.
I would be stuck.
After working up my athleticism I am now somewhere between
a size 8 or 6.
And am nowhere near my old athletic trimness.
I feel solid now,
my stamina is great,
and I don't really feel the
sluggish, out of shape,
unhealthy feeling anymore.
BUT
I am not where I was a few years back.
Because I am no longer 18
and my body is just not the same.
(I can always be anorexic but that takes too much dedication-
-Nobody kill me for that statement I do not support any disposition that includes depriving your body of its needs.)
![]() |
| via |
Depriving my body to be slimmer is probably going to damage me
as much as overeating.
But I do feel a little bit on the sidelines when it comes to
posts I see that are all about body and self love.
Probably my favoritest British blogger Becky Bedbug
was recently "concerned that some people may think [she's] not 'fat enough' to do this".
I didn't know one had to worry about this.
Would she be ostracized if she was deemed too thin?
Is fat just a look and not a feeling?
Can one not feel fat or skinny?
Per say in those jeans?
I have heard people being called fat for many reasons.
An old friend who did ballet said she was the fat girl
in her class once. And I was twice her size.
![]() |
| via |
I definitely believe our distorting use of the word fat stems somewhere from the irrational and fantasy based
sense of beauty.
The rant was for the idea that I might not be able to do the
same e-course from the Near Sighted Owl that dear Becky worried about.
I signed up.
So lets see if 'fat' can be empowering, inspirational,
and inclusive.

Sunday Brunch Day
Sundays.
10am.
Sweats.
Jeans.
Hoodies.
Warm Showers.
Warm beds.
Slow morning meal.
Sundays are the epitome for Brunch.
That wonderful, slow eating meal you have when you are too cozy and lazy to get out of bed before ten.
I love days like these when you just slow down.
And I really like brunch.
Since I am a leftover eater and usually end up eating leftovers almost ALL the time here is another leftover plate.
CINCRONISADA
| Yes there might be chocolate milk with every meal I post... don't judge me. |
You call it quesadilla, I say cincronisada.
It's usually like a sandwich- only transferred into a tortilla.
CINCRONISADA
Needed:
Needed:
-Protein/ Seriously, go into your leftovers and grab all meats, fish
works as well but it won't have the same taste.
works as well but it won't have the same taste.
-Veggies/ Again, peruse leftovers and slice.
-Cheese/ You need this. I would recommend queso fresco.
-Onions/ Needed. No arguments.
-Butter/ You may substitute this but I find butter gives it a better taste.
TOSS SALAD
Fresh strawberries Very literally put in a bowl
Baby spinach or container with lid and
Sliced avocado toss together. ^_^
1. Caramelize onions in a tiny bit of butter.
2. Add protein. Cook all the way through.
3. Set aside cooked onions and protein in a plate.
4. Add a little butter in the pan if dry.
5. Take one flour tortilla (your choice of whole grain, classic, etc) place it on top of the butter and lightly turn with fingertips in the pan to cover the whole tortilla with the butter.
6. Add choice of cheese while still on pan.
7. (Optional) Grill or fry veggies.
8. Incorporate all ingredients together in tortilla.

Et voila! More easy, lazy, leftover food.
And can I say how good my "salads" seem to be to me?
I hate dressings or too many toppings on salads.
So I think my salads are pretty healthy.
Maybe the most healthy stuff I eat.
They do LOOK delicious!
Haha!

Late Sketch #2
Oh man. Late with posting this sketch even though I did it right when I saw Run to the Wild post it up on her blog. Now I really need to make this link up work!
Wish me luck!
SKETCH PROMPT # 2
Second prompt. Put Pencil down on paper. Close your eyes, let pencil roam. 15 seconds later open eyes. Make something out of your scribbles. Awesomeness. lol
I love these ^_^
I need to find more of this type of link-ups out there!

Facts of Z
Facts of Z

Music fiend: Love music. Wish I played instruments. It seems too daunting to learn now but in lieu of my "Do it" resolution I'll at least hop on youtube and go along with tutorials/ instrumentals of songs while stealing equipment from the manchild.
Also, you will find almost any and every type of music on my phone. I understand there are people who say they listen to anything and then come up with many exceptions, but I'm serious.
Exhibit A-Z:
I'm a NERD. This one needs an outline for all the different associations I have with this word and myself. (Who outlines this stuff? Geeze Z!)
I. Gamer
A. Love games. Favorites are console and phone.
1. RPGs are my top plays- could keep me going for a few hours.
2. I'm still in love with God of War.
B. Ever since the manchild bought an Xbox with me last year I've learned the addictive ways of
achievments.... I will get them... no matter how many times I have to try or how much I have to
cry for help! lol
C. Challenge me on Free Flow or Diamond Blast. I dare you ^_^
II. Book Worm
A. Thrillers/Criminal
1. Alex Cross, Anne Rule, Stephen King
2. If you have any of these books, note, I accept donations =)
B. Favorites usually are historical or classics with a tendency toward gothic novels.
1. Wuthering Heights- my copy is almost broken and its cover is indistinguishable!
2. Anna Karenina- you don't know how excited I am about the movie. Still need to see it...
3. Frankenstein- So deep. Such horror from misfortune and misunderstanding.
4. Child Thief by Brom- Amazing dark retelling of the Peter Pan story! Love children's
dark tales.
5. Currently reading Earth's Children series by Jean M Auel. It's so good! On the second
book. Again donations?
C. I'll read anything. For knowledge or pleasure. Though knowledge is pleasure! Right? Ahhh the
cheese... Yet to read:
1. The Autobiography of Malcolm X 2. Emma
3. The Life of Abraham Lincoln by Henry Ketcham 4. Re-read P&P
5. Next Earth Series book
III. Media
A. Anime. Love it. It'll be wonderful forever. So are cartoons. You can't make me grow up. Period.
B. Photography/Writing
1. I follow way too many blogs. Still let me know whats' good!
2. I love photos! Taking them. Imagining them. Seeing them. Having prints. Decidedly I'll
never be a photographer in any sense but who cares I'm taking photos.
I wanna be:
An athlete. I used to run for XC and track. Loved it. Best years ever. Then I got injured (achilles), declined in progress and had to stop. I've been trying to work myself up again . Thus the wanna be aspect of my athleticsm. Also, love sports or any outdoor activity. Doesn't mean I'm good at any, but again, who cares I'm doing it if I can.
Fashionista. Don't exactly like some connotations of this word but I love style, fashion, clothes, shoes, accesories, dressing up (or down)! I'd love to takes pictures to store and share (selfies or not) but I have no lovely reassuring photographer and I'm too shy to buy a tripod and have people stare. Because I just know people will stare. I'll see what I can do to resolve this little issue though... so maybe some ootd soon?
I can't believe I've said so much. I sure do have a good list here. Hope whoever stumbles upon this links up too!
Have a great Weekend!

On My Mind
Oh how I have not kept up with this. I really didn't understand before how I'd see some of my fave bloggers go off on hiatus or come back a week later and apologize to readers on staying out for so long.... Now I understand.
There's a couple of things I want to post. One is a thing I'm thinking of doing weekly to inspire me and get me looking again into news and historical people/literature/etc. I'm going to do a "Quote This" section. I think it can encompass enough things so I have some liberty with it and yet encourage me to go and look for new ideas or philosophies. Maybe even quote some loved ones.
I love the link up ideas bloggers have. Its really one of the reasons I wanted to to do posts. I wanted to be able to go around and do fun linkups I've seen around. It again makes me do something lol So I will be doing a Facts of Life linkup with I Wore Yoga Pants To Work. I think she uploaded this Monday... so by tomorrow that'll mean I'm a full four days behind... So sad.
I also wanted to do a quick talk on Darumas. I didn't learn what they were until a year ago when one friend gave me one and now I've decided that maybe it will be a fun little way to stay on course for my things. Later on that.
Hope you guys are having a serene Thursday and getting ready for FRIDAY! Tomorrow... so much still to do for me today. I have to go to work and then I'll have to come home and workout at like 9pm. Pooey. But next week I start Bootcamp Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning so I'll be obligated to get up ad workout instead of waiting until I get out of work.
Well I thought this was going to be short but I guess I type pretty fast.
HAPPY THURSDAY!

Always a good thing to learn what you can or can't do = no or less mug shots, etc.
Can't not love vintage. Swoon for it this year too, including this inspired New Years photo.
Something so good and sweet about honey. 2013 must- honey substitutes.
And quite possibly some crazy shoe inspiration for 2013. Just include something this uncommon to the status quo.
